A large majority of short-term mission efforts are concerned with small building projects, but at RP Missions the majority of our efforts are geared at outreach and discipleship. One of our trips which provides great opportunities for mentoring and discipling young men and women is to be found at the White Lake Covenanter Camp.

A team of 15-20 young adults will spend approximately four weeks serving this children’s camp near White Lake, New York. Team members will each be responsible for overseeing a cabin of young people and will guide them in daily devotions, crafting daily Bible studies, organize craft and games for the campers and also will help out with evening campfires. Though a tiring endeavor, few things are as rewarding as witnessing the work of God’s Holy Spirit in the lives of these young campers.
We are looking for mature Christians who are willing to work as counselors for each camp. In many ways this is a unique opportunity among the many options you have to serve with RP Missions. Most of the team members will be tasked with serving as cabin counselors for young boys and girls from across the Northeast. The team member will lead daily devotions with the cabin members, help teach Bible lessons during the mornings and the team will also labor together to organize crafts and games for the campers in the afternoons and then at night the team will help with the campfires. This trip is unique because so much of the time is spent in charge of a group of young people rather than just be one among many team members, so it takes more stamina to undertake this trip. But the rewards and blessings of discipling these young kids is great! It is a real opportunity for you to put into practice all those things you have learned under the regular preaching of your pastor and to grow more confident as a discipler of people. I hope you will consider this trip!
